Sıla Demirci, who spent a year in Azerbaijan as part of our European Solidarity Corps project, has returned home. Working at the Sağlam Düşünce Gençler Teşkilatı Birliği in Sumgait, Sıla created visual designs, announcements, social media visuals, and campaign materials. She collaborated with the public relations team to support promotional and communication efforts. She participated in various social and cultural events, contributing to communication and integration processes. She improved the organization’s communication and visibility, making information about Erasmus projects more accessible to the target audience. She created designs to support the organization’s social media accounts. In the diverse volunteer environment, she had the opportunity to better understand the culture through the communication she established. She adapted to cultural diversity by interacting with the local community.
She worked alongside volunteers from different countries, which facilitated her effective adaptation and communication in both her professional and daily life. Being part of the public relations team helped her develop design skills, prepare for professional life, and become more disciplined. Throughout the year, she overcame challenges such as language barriers and adapting to new situations. Personally, she became more confident and responsible in problem-solving. Socially, she became more open, collaborative, and flexible. Culturally, she had the opportunity to learn about different lifestyles. We would like to thank Sıla very much for her valuable year of work in Azerbaijan.
