Salma Nabil and Hanane Mzil returned to their home

❤️ Months of Compassion, Learning and Solidarity!

Our Moroccan veterinary students, Salma Nabil and Hanane Mzil, have successfully completed their two-month volunteering activities with the Association for the Protection and Survival of Stray Animals in Sinop, Türkiye, under the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) programme, and have returned home.

Throughout their volunteering journey, Salma and Hanane actively contributed to the daily care and well-being of stray cats and dogs. Their responsibilities included feeding, maintaining clean and safe living environments, monitoring animal health and behaviour, and supporting the animals’ everyday needs.

As veterinary students, they gained valuable practical experience while developing a deeper understanding of animal welfare, responsible care, and the challenges faced by stray animals.

For Salma, one of the most important lessons was recognising that animal welfare depends on continuous effort, dedication, and responsibility rather than occasional actions. She also highlighted how volunteering strengthened her independence, confidence, and teamwork skills.

❤️ For Hanane, the experience demonstrated that even small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference in an animal’s life. Beyond her professional development, she gained greater confidence, patience, communication skills, and appreciation for cultural diversity.

❤️ We sincerely thank Salma and Hanane for their dedication, compassion, and valuable contributions to the well-being of our animals. We wish them every success in their future veterinary careers and adventures!

Our heartfelt thanks also go to our sending organisation, Association Isaaf Jerada Solidarité et Développement, for their cooperation and support in making this volunteering experience possible.

Different countries, shared compassion, one common purpose!
