Our Lithuanian volunteer Indrė Čepulytė, who came to Sinop with our European Solidarity Corps project, completed her 2-month service and returned to her hometown. During her volunteering activity, Indrė assisted in the treatment of stray cats and dogs in Sinop and Gerze shelters. Accompanied by the shelter veterinarian, she improved her surgical skills in ovariohysterectomy and orchiectomy of dogs and cats. She performed anesthesia, provided post-operative care, and intravenous fluid therapy. She took care of orphan cats, she nursed them and cured them from ectoparasites, endoparasites, diarrhea and skin problems. She did deworming procedures and prevention of viral diseases by vaccinating puppies and kitties. She took care of wounds, made bandages and provided first aid. She treated dogs with various skin problems such as fungal infections, scabies, demodicosis, flea allergy dermatitis, and also animals with eye, ears, upper respiratory tract and mouth infections. We would like to thank Indrė for her extraordinary efforts for our homeless friends.
