With our European Solidarity Corps project, veterinary students Chaymae Beraich, Alae Hamdache, and Soumaya Aittaleb, who came from Morocco, completed their two-month volunteering activity and returned to their home country. Throughout their activities, our volunteers took responsibility for the care and treatment of sick, elderly, young, and disabled cats and dogs under our care, as well as those at Gerze Animal Shelter and Tarzan Kemal Living Area. At the Gerze Animal Shelter, they assisted the veterinarian in spay/neuter procedures and other surgical operations and carried out routine health examinations of the cats and dogs housed there. At the Tarzan Kemal Living Area, they provided treatment for dogs that were ill or had sustained injuries. They both provided daily care and met the medical needs of the sick, elderly, young, and disabled cats and dogs under our protection. In addition, they exchanged knowledge and experience with fellow veterinary colleagues from other countries. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our volunteers for all their efforts and dedication to our homeless animal friends.
