Bengisu Güneş Akbudak, a student of Afyon Kocatepe University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, completed her voluntary internship for 2 months at Sinop DKMP Sarıkum Wildlife Protection and Rehabilitation Center under the responsibility of Veterinarians Ali Çalışkan and Semih Onur Külük. During her internship, she contributed to the anesthesia, treatment, protection, care and rearing, physical therapy, rehabilitation and release of migratory bird species and endangered wild species, as well as common wild animal species living in the Black Sea forests. In the shelter, she completed her voluntary internship by helping our municipality’s veterinarian, Volkan Tuncay, in anesthesia, sterilization surgeries, patient care before and after the operation, and internal and external parasites. In addition, Bengisu performed daily examinations and minor treatments of the disabled cats and dogs under our protection. We thank her very much for her hard work for our animals.
