As part of our European Solidarity Corps volunteering project, funded by the Turkish National Agency, our volunteer Vladimir Mihaylov from Bulgaria spent one month supporting activities at the animal shelter and making a meaningful contribution to the local community.

During his volunteering journey, Vladimir helped take care of animals by cleaning their living areas, preparing food and water, and spending time with them to provide attention and social interaction. He also supported the shelter staff in daily tasks and joined activities promoting animal protection and awareness. He also took a stray mother cat with her babies in his room and provided them a safe and comfortable space.

Beyond helping the animals, this experience became an important learning journey for Vladimir. Working together with volunteers from different countries allowed him to improve his communication, teamwork, and intercultural skills while becoming more responsible, patient, and open-minded.

Although some moments were emotionally challenging, especially when facing the reality of abandoned and injured animals, Vladimir showed dedication, positivity, and solidarity throughout the activity. His contribution reminds us that even small actions can create a meaningful impact for both animals and society. ✨
