Veterinary student Basma Chahm, who came from Morocco with our European Solidarity Corps project, has returned home after completing two months of volunteering service. Throughout her time Basma worked at the Gerze shelter and with the cats and dogs under our care. She assisted the veterinarian with diagnoses, treatments, and surgeries. She fostered newborn orphaned kittens. She cared for numerous stray cats and dogs and met the medical needs of those who were ill. She administered parasite treatments and vaccinations. She also performed all the necessary care and examinations for the cats in our care, including assisting with their microchip implants. She also implemented treatment protocols for the sick cats and dogs under our care. Thanks to Basma, the general condition of many stray cats and dogs has improved, and they have regained their health. She also had the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience with other veterinary colleagues from various countries. We extend our sincere gratitude to Basma for all her dedicated work.
